If you live in the Northeast, aka the rust belt, or any region with significant seasonal changes, your Jeep may be dealing with rust. Rust is a common issue for Jeeps in these climates, as the combination of road salt, moisture, and temperature fluctuations accelerates rust development.
Understanding Rust Development:
Early Stages: Rust often begins on the backside of metal components and may not be immediately visible. Small paint bubbles can indicate underlying rust, and by the time these are noticeable, the damage may be extensive.
Known Problem Areas: Certain Jeep models—particularly older ones—have specific areas that are prone to rust. Common problem areas include wheel wells, frame sections, pinch welds, and underbody components. Even newer Wranglers can experience paint bubbling on hinges, hoods, and doors due to galvanic corrosion and aluminum oxidation.
What Can Be Done:
Regular Inspections: Frequently check for early signs of rust, especially in the known problem areas. Look for paint bubbles, discoloration, or any unusual changes in your Jeep’s metal surfaces.
Undercoating: Applying a rust-resistant undercoating can help protect your Jeep’s underbody and frame from moisture and road salt. This service can be performed annually or as needed, depending on your driving conditions.
Rust Repair and Replacement: For more extensive damage, parts may need to be repaired or replaced. This could involve welding new frame and body sections, replacing rusted components.

The frame is the backbone of your Jeep, enduring significant abuse while holding everything together. Wranglers and CJs have a full boxed frame design, which offers strength but also traps dirt and moisture, setting the stage for rust.
Rust often starts on the inside of the frame, compromising its integrity.
We repair rust damage to OEM strength—or better.

There are countless options for lifting your Jeep, each offering different benefits in style, height, performance, and cost. With so many choices, it's important to select the right lift kit for your specific needs—whether you're after aesthetics or serious off-road capability.
Types of Lift Kits:
Leveling Kit: These kits correct the factory “rake,” where the front end sits lower than the rear. By using spacers, a leveling kit raises the front to match the rear, providing a balanced ride height.
Spacer Lift / Budget Boost: This lift involves installing polyurethane blocks above the coil springs or longer shackles on leaf-spring vehicles. While effective for enhancing appearance and fitting larger tires, it’s not ideal for off-roading and can result in a stiffer ride. Longer shocks are recommended for this type of lift.
Body Lift: This kit raises the body off the frame and adds clearance.
Suspension Lift: Replacing the suspension components is the most comprehensive way to lift your Jeep. With numerous heights, brands, and components available, it’s essential to choose a kit that aligns with your specific needs.
Long Arm Kits: This advanced suspension lift replaces the control arms with longer ones, improving both off-road performance and on-road ride quality.
Snake Jaws: This is a completely different type of leaf spring suspension than what you’re used to. The concept is designed to provide more “flex” in a leaf-sprung vehicle. Conventionally, a leaf spring suspension has limited movement due to the shackle design. A Snake Jaw replaces the shackle, allowing for significantly greater movement in the suspension. When combined with a shackle reversal kit, your Jeep or truck will be unstoppable! (view video)

Restoring a Jeep to its original specifications is a rewarding but intensive process, requiring dedication from both our team and you, the Jeep owner. Every restoration project is unique and demands personal attention to detail. Here’s what you need to know about the restoration process and how Jeff Daniels can help you achieve the best results for your Jeep.
Types of Restorations:
“Nut & Bolt” Frame-Off Restoration:
Scope: This involves a detailed disassembly and documentation of every original part, using or replacing with OEM (original equipment) parts as necessary. We will use our vast resources to locate hard-to-find replacement parts, ensuring reassembly to better than OE quality. This type of resto is ideal for addressing severe rust or extensive damage, allowing for a thorough inspection and repair of the frame and body.
“Resto-Mod” Frame-Off Restoration:
Scope: This involves a detailed disassembly and documentation of each part, replacing them with customer-chosen components while relying on our team to guide you, the Jeep owner, through the process. This type of restoration is ideal for addressing severe rust or extensive damage, allowing for a through inspection and repair of the frame and body.
Body-on Restoration:
Scope: This involves a detailed disassembly and documentation of each part, replacing with customer-chosen components while relying on our team to help guide you, the Jeep owner, through the process. This approach is effective for minor repairs and rust treatment without the need for a complete disassembly. While generally more cost-effective, this method may not address underlying issues as thoroughly as a frame-off restoration.
Choosing the Right Approach:
Assessing the Condition: We will help you determine whether a restoration is best suited for your Jeep, based on your Jeep’s condition, your budget, and your restoration goals.
Expert Guidance: Our team at Jeff Daniels can provide recommendations and a plan of action tailored to your Jeep’s needs.
