1981 Brown (Formally) Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler
This Jeep started out as one of Jeff Daniel's south west purchases out of Arizona. Once the Jeep made its way to the shop we knew it was a perfect foundation for a restoration with a modern twist. As the build progresses this page will continue to be updated with its latest modifications and progress. Thus far here is what has been done:
Body completely disassembled to every nut & bolt.
Frame blasted and coated.
Body blasted and coated with heavy-duty primer (Absolutely NO patches or repair panels).
Axles swapped from 1981 "Narrow Track" to 1982 "Wide Track".
Axles rebuilt with 3.73 Gears and Auburn ECTED rear locker.
Rear AMC 20 axle retro-fitted with disc brake conversion.
Suspension replaced with SkyJacker 4" leaf springs/shocks.
Heavy Duty Shackles, Steering box brace, & Steering box mount.
4.2L engine replaced with Jasper AMC 304 V8.
Fuel injection conversion by Howell Developments.
